Spreading the Tokidoki Love across Asia-Pacific and the world!

Ok, as promised, more exciting stuff as we look at what else new from tokidoki is on Queen’s Couture’s shelves (Check out Part One if you haven’t!). First up - hoodies.

There was a striking peach-pink short-sleeved hoodie with a cute little record on the front, as well as a black one featuring pooches Bastardino and Polpettina. And there’s more to the design (of course). Turn around, and you’ll see that there’s a teardrop cut teasingly positioned in the middle of the back. And when you let down the hood, there are more tokidoki prints on the inside of it.

You’ve got to see this next (windbreaker) jacket for yourself. Pictures just don’t do this justice.

Pink pipings stand out perfectly on the black sheen of the jacket, and adding to the drool factor are the rainbow zips (main zip and two zip pockets on each side of the jacket), which look absolutely awesome! And as if that isn’t enough to make you go grab one immediately, there is a pink rainbow on each inner elbow sleeve that catches attention (but not in a loud way). On the back, there’s an image of Ciao Ciao printed on it.

There’s a white (with orange piping) version of this jacket (which I saw on the tokidoki site) as well, but Queen’s Couture only carries the black version for now (not sure if they will be bringing in the white version). Doesn’t matter which one you choose - ‘cos it’s still gonna look super cool!

In addition to the spaghetti tops we featured yesterday, there are also summer dresses in the same prints - polka dot with Japanese girl and discoteca print.

Last but not least is this really nice button-front halter neck black top with a vinyl record theme. At first glance, you would think it’s a simple top with minimal detail. But look closely, and you’ll be surprised at the little details that make the top so droolworthy!

On the front, there’s a black tokidoki logo subtly embroidered on the top left. A green-orange strip running across the entire top provides a ribbed waist that accentuates the wearer’s figure. On closer inspection reveals yet another nice detail - the top comes with “vinyl record” buttons, like the one printed on the back!

That’s it for now. Stay tuned to Tokidokizens as we bring you the next batch of arrivals as soon as they arrive!

Yes - there are new arrivals at Queen’s Couture again! We made a trip down to the boutique and was greeted by racks and shelves of tokidoki apparel heaven. Seems that the tokidoki collection at Queen’s Couture has never been bigger AND it may just keep getting BIGGER. So keep coming back to our site for the latest tokidoki arrivals in Singapore.

Here’s a look at what just landed on our local shores:

Tees, tees, and more tees! For a quirky touch to your dressing, check out the flashy discoteca and funky glasses twist back tops below.

There’s also the very nice three-quarter sleeved tops with the discoteca and LA/gun designs. Very chic!

And what’s a summer collection without some flesh-baring and heat-defying spaghetti tops? There’s one with the discoteca print, and another in sweet pink with guns all over which basically oozes sweetness and style at the same time.

My favourites are the polka-dotted one with a sultry Japanese girl looking at you from one side of the top, and the black one featuring the very cool-looking Japanese girl with tattoos. Edgy. I like!

Ok, enough for now. More exciting stuff coming up tomorrow. C’ya then!

We’ve been getting good responses since we placed a call for everyone to contribute to our ‘Where to buy tokidoki‘ list (THANKS!). Do continue to help all Tokidokizens (and you) to increase the listings on the page just by contacting us!

Of course besides just listing the stores, Tokidokizens have taken it a step further. We will feature some stores that we think are pretty interesting (philosophy, location, store design etc.) for you to check out as well. :)

Being in Asia, it’s quite difficult for us to find any online stores that sell tokidoki around here. So imagine my delight when we spotted one that is based in Australia (so nearby!) whilst running through our list!

Pinin is an online retailer based in Sydney, Australia. Like us, they love, love, love all manner of funky, cute, designer stuff (like tokidoki). They started their online operations early this year and do stock a good amount of tokidoki items.

(Yes they have the latest tokidoki tees!)

They have tokidoki apparel from the US collection, accessories like tokidoki watches, jewellery and caps, tokidoki toys and even tokidoki stickers and badges! Pinin ships to various international locations (hurray for us…) and of course domestically in Australia.

You can also find them travelling to various trade shows/conventions and even clubs and gigs in Australia. Here’s a shot (taken from their blog) of what you can expect if you visit them at such venues:

So many drool-worthy tokidoki stuff!! *Resists urge to buy airticket and fly to Australia*

Check out Pinin’s tokidoki section and begin the shopping madness… Or if you are in Australia, make sure to catch them at SUPANOVA in Sydney (Australia’s largest pop culture convention) where they’ll have even more tokidoki goodies in store!

Here’s more of tokidoki’s latest Nautica summer collection - sassy shorts and flirty dresses included!

Whenever we were shopping around for tokidoki apparel, we were often confused because there just seemed to be so many different types of outfits with so many different clothing tags on it! It got to a point where we were wondering if it was possible that some of the apparel were fakes.

So to try and clear up the air, we decided to go find out. After doing a bit of research (asking around etc), we discovered that there are actually 3 types of tokidoki apparel ‘tag types’ that you can find in the market today. Here’s how you can tell them all apart.

Tokidoki Apparel - How to Tell What is What?

tokidoki apparel - US collection ‘1st series’

The initial series of tokidoki apparel for the US market were actually made in the USA. The sizing tags were plain with the tokidoki ‘heart and crossbones’ logo together with the tokidoki wordmark.

They had the big tokidoki ‘heart and crossbones’ tag as well (holographic effect on the outside, tokidoki illustrations and a short writeup on the inside).

tokidoki apparel - US collection ‘2nd series’

The 2nd series are now made in China and they feature a running tokidoki logo band on the inside collar of the t-shirt instead of a size tag. There’s also a big tokidoki logo printed on the inside of the tee as well.

Not only that, there’s also a small cloth tag attached to the left sleeve. It features a tokidoki Japanese girl embroidered. This tag is the same across all tees. The big ‘heart and crossbones’ tag on the outside remains unchanged.

tokidoki apparel - Europe collection

The EU collection is distinct from the US collection as it is made in Europe itself. The quality of the fabric and workmanship are better compared with the US collection. Instead of being plain black, the size tag for the EU collection is embroidered with the camo print design (much like the sleeve tag of the US collection). Some of the T-shirts also come with an extra ‘present’: hair clips for the girls and button pins for the guys.

Their outside tag is also different, it’s more simple with a small black and white illustration on one side and the tokidoki logo on black on the other.

Hope this helps when you go shopping around for your favourite tokidoki clothing!
