As part of the Yahoo! “Start Wearing Purple” campaign, tokidoki has launched a limited edition purple apparel line sold exclusively at Start Wearing Purple. According to the Yahoo! rep who kindly sent us this piece of exciting news, the site is dedicated to a grassroots campaign that encourages people to embrace the color and spirit of purple.

Check out two of the tees in the range (we totally dig the tokidoki SANDY in purple tee!), as well as a gorgeous shot of Simone Legno sporting a purple cap and purple Adios star tee which I’d love to get my hands on!

The tees cost US$30 but at the moment it seems to be only available in the US - we tried to buy one but we only saw US states listed in the drop-down menu. (However don’t fret coz we’ll update you once we have news that it will be shipped internationally as well!)

Together with the site, there’s also a series of videos of Simone Legno, one of which is this mini-documentary (you can catch a glimpse of the tokidoki office!):

Just found this on the WWW - Karmaloop TV’s interview with Simone Legno! You have to check it out as there’s a sneak preview of the tokidoki Cocomando - Captain Coco (the coconut helmet is removable) as well as the upcoming tokidoki bags!

As promised, here’s the first of our videos featuring Simone Legno at the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention. We shot this video on the Preview Night outside the event hall where the artists (including Simone) were drawing on the big wall mural. We were also checking out his cute cap, tokidoki clothes and the awesome tokidoki x Onitsuka tiger shoes. Hehe.

This is probably a gem of a link that i gotta share with you. It’s actually an online special featuring Simone Legno in a series of videos talking about tokidoki, his inspiration as well as a short demo of how he draws his characters! There are actually more videos but they can only be accessed if you are a paying member of the site. I’m actually tempted to sign up with lynda.com just to be able to watch the other videos…

In any case, the free videos are very inspirational indeed (check out the stickers on his Macbook!!) and is a good reference not only for fans of tokidoki but for designers/illustrators as well - Tokidoki: Creative Inspiration
