But if you know of any other places in Taipei (or Taiwan for that matter) that sell tokidoki, please drop a comment and share the news to all!

First up - toys. I saw the tokidoki Plus Robots still up for sale at Page One bookstore located at the Taipei 101. The price is similar to Singapore’s pricing so if you realllllly want one, do drop by the store.

When I was there, Eslite (one of the biggest bookstores in Taipei) had other collectible toys but did not have tokidoki. I’m not sure if that’s because they do not carry the toys at all.

As for tokidoki apparel, make sure you check out this store located in Ximending - Million Boy Club. They have the latest tees from tokidoki (Eccomondo and Rock range) and they are quite prevalent in Taipei as well, with small corners in the major departmental stores like Shinkong Mitsukuoshi, Eslite and New York New York.

We’ve spotted tokidoki collaborating with Koi - they create gorgeous scrubs for medical stuff - to create a unique range of designer scrubs! While you won’t spot the medical staff of Grey’s Anatomy wearing these, these tokidoki for Koi scrubs are seriously cute! I would wear them as PJs if I could!

The tokidoki Concept Space now stock the full range of the tokidoki Bags as well as tokidoki + Hello Kitty items (no need to fly to Japan)! For tokidoki apparel, be sure to check out the tokidoki Jeans and flip flops when you’re at the store as well. I’m actually wishing I could catch the next flight out as I’m typing this!

Besides the bags, they also have the collectible items like the tokidoki Soccer Ball, tokidoki Be@rbrick and tokidoki Miao together with his other toys. If you’re looking for presents for a tokidoki fan (or simply for yourself), the Concept Space will be bringing in the tokidoki Geisha as well as Captain Coco of the Cocommandos!

We managed to get our hands on the two magazines that tokidoki has been featured in - Metropop (issue 36) and Computer Arts Project (isslue 116). Metropop magazine came with a surprise freebie as well, it’s an inflatable tokidoki + Onitsuka Tiger shoe to our combined amusement. Nonetheless it’s been done to look like the yellow high-cut sneaker (even the soles were the same!) so it’s a really good collectible. Our local bookstore had sold out on the issue so we managed to order ours via Atomic Books (an online US bookstore)!

Luckily there were plenty of copies of Computer Arts Project magazine for us to purchase :). The magazine had a pretty good spread for tokidoki - featuring many of his past projects and current collaborations as well. As the theme of the issue was on character illustrations and toy designs, you can find many other well-known toy designers featured as well. Truly an interesting read for anyone who wants to know how to start with toy design and illustration!

Flipping through the local papers today, we saw that the really adorable tokidoki + Fujitsu laptop we spotted in August, has started retailing in Singapore! According to the press release on Fujitsu’s AP site, only 100 pieces of the laptop will be brought into Singapore and will go for SGD2,088.

The latest tokidoki vinyl toy, Captain Coco of the tokidoki Cocomandos, is now available for preorder from EarthX!

Not only that, we spied that they also have the tokidoki Mirror Mints and a couple of tokidoki Skate Decks available for preorder too. The tokidoki Mirror Mints have been retailing in the USA for quite a while and this is probably the first time any of us here in Asia have seen it.

As for the tokidoki Skate Decks, I really like the version titled “24 Carat” as it looks really different with its two colour scheme (instead of the colourful illustrations we’re so familar with). Even though Christmas is two months away, it’s always good to start shopping early (for yourself!) ;)

Weekends are a good time to go out shopping and over the past weekend we popped by Tangs (Orchard) here in Singapore to check out if they have any new tokidoki apparel in store. We weren’t to be disappointed because they do have the tokidoki Nautical series already (yes we’re really behind time here in Asia!).

I fell in love with this grey terry cloth halter featuring a really cute tokidoki pirate monkey! With a big tokidoki pirate star on the back too! Awwww…

This would be perfect for those outings at the beach where you lounge about in your bikini, do a bit of a swim with no need for a towel coz your tokidoki top is already made of it! The material is quite soft and not scratchy at all to wear.

Besides the material, the top is also embellished with a few tokidoki details. In front you have a tokidoki pirate monkey holding onto a yellow rope and making heart patterns along it. Along the back of the top, there’s a bigggg tokidoki word made out from the rope as well as a sparkling tokidoki pirate star stitched on as well (like a patch).

tokidoki’s collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger continues in 2009! They recently did a preview in the US and the upcoming tokidoki + Onitsuka Tiger collection looks fad with a combination of sneakers and slip-ons for the gals. Here are some sneak peeks we managed to find whilst trawling through the Internet:

For the ladies slip-ons, they all have the cute ribbon detail on the back, rubbery sole with inlay printing as well as tokidoki graphics on the inside. But each design features a different theme - black/pink is more punk rocker whereas the pink one has a sweet floral theme.

As for the sneakers, this time round tokidoki has continued with the normal style sneaker (no hi-cut versions) in different colour combinations as well as material. I personally like the version that’s covered in greyish brown suede (with the white tokidoki + Onitsuka Tiger icon on the back!) followed very closely by the classic white with blue and red stripes version. From the design, it seems like tokidoki was very influenced by the recent Olympics - the side featured a tokidoki Tiger holding a torch and running. :)
